COMMUNIQUE OF AIR MAURITIUS LTD
ON REBATE TRAVEL PRIVILEGES

1. On 14 October 2025, a meeting was held between the Chairperson and members of the National Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) and the Chairman of Air Mauritius Ltd (“the Company”), regarding the suspension of rebate travel privileges of employees who had initiated legal proceedings against the Company.

2. The Company made it clear to the Commission that its decision to suspend rebate travel privileges, as aforesaid, did not constitute a human right violation and was legally justified in as much as rebate travel is a privilege and not a right.

3. The Company has, pursuant to the meeting with the Commission, and based on humanitarian grounds, decided to do away with the suspension of rebate travel privileges of employees initiating legal proceedings against the Company.

4. The Company however wishes to add that rebate travel privileges will still be suspended for the following categories of employees:
• Employees prosecuted for an offence committed to the prejudice of the Company
• Employees subject to proceedings for gross misconduct
