Air Mauritius Improves Its Regional Fleet with an additional ATR 72-600 in replacement of an ATR 72-500 aircraft

Air Mauritius welcomes today an additional ATR 72-600 aircraft, named, Ile-aux-Aigrettes, registered 3B-NCV, which will replace an ATR 72-500 currently in service. The aircraft landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, in Mauritius at 18h21.

Departing from Toulouse Francazal Airport on 03 November 2025, the ferry flight made several planned stopovers before touching down in Mauritius.

The ATR 72-600 offers significant upgrades over the previous ATR 72-500 model, including a redesigned and more comfortable cabin, improved passenger experience, and an advanced flight deck equipped with the latest avionics technology.

The aircraft will be deployed on regional routes, notably Rodrigues and Réunion, where the ATR series continues to play a vital role in supporting Air Mauritius’ short-haul operations and regional accessibility.

This new addition follows the arrival of another ATR 72-600, in August 2025, reinforcing Air Mauritius’ commitment to continuously modernise its fleet and enhance regional connectivity.
